On Thursday, September 7, this fifth installment of MEDUSA FESTIVAL will mark the very last one at its mainstay in legendary CBGB. The sexy ladies of Medusa will be paying homage to CBGB the last month its open in its Bowery location along with an all-star NYC cast. Medusa is the ultimate truth, the female mysteries, the Mistress of the Beasts. She represents forbidden yet liberating wisdom. She was worshipped by the Libyan Amazons as their Serpent Goddess. Blood from her right vein heals and nourishes, blood from her left, kills. It was inscribed that no one dared look beneath her veil or risk seeing the mirror to one's own death. She is most popularly known as the creature who turned all those who gazed upon her face into stone. Bottom line, Medusa is one badass and powerful chick.

Electric violin playing rocker, Lourds will once again be hosting the Medusa Festival, a night she created to celebrate the most electrifying female-fronted bands in NYC. The potency and stage presence of all the Medusa frontwomen are indicative of the fierce strength of the Goddess herself. Every year, CBGB is packed all night long with die-hard Medusa fans -- girls and boys of all ages -- who come early and rock out hard to the Medusers until the very last note. With this year's all-star line-up, MEDUSA FESTIVAL V promises to be the biggest one yet!

This year's Medusa has the most eclectic mix of headlining NYC rockers of all the Medusa Festivals featuring performances by SWATI, SIRSY (VERSION 2.0), ME TALK PRETTY, GSX, LOURDS, KHZ and MAHAVATAR. Whether it be uniquely riveting solo or duo performances, dirty sex-driven rock n' roll, or hard-hitting metal, one common thread remains: the snakes will be coming out and these fiercely talented and charismatic bands will rock YOUR world.

Also gracing this year's Medusa stage is the ever-unpredictable and sharp-witted comedienne/singer, SANDRA BERNHARD, on-stage with the band, LOURDS. In addition, Metal Mistress JULIYA will also be in attendance, inevitably spicing up the night with her seductive rock n' roll antics. Highly coveted DJ and sultry bass goddess, JENNCITY will keep the crowd pumping as she spins your favorite chick rock all night long. Also appearing are the current BLACKHEARTS, who have made a 2006 comeback headlining this year's WARPED TOUR, and who have been a proud Medusa sponsor since its inception. Finally, look out for those gorgeous ROCK N DOLLS, casting for new female hotties to join their NYC crew while filming their first episode of "We're With the Band" for Fearless TV on Fox.
